A New and Improved Way to Stream KAPU Radio

| April 22, 2014

KAPU has heard your concerns about streaming difficulties, and we are happy to unveil a new way to listen. No more time-outs and browser refreshing, now you can listen to KAPU whenever you want for as long as you want.

Follow these simple steps to get setup, then listening is as easy as a click of the mouse.

Download and install VLC player, a free media player application, at this link:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Open the program, scroll to the “File” tab, and select “Open Network”. A new box will appear. In the space marked “URL” enter this link:

http://kapustream.apu.edu:8000/kapu-high?YOURNUMBERHERE.mp3

When you enter the link into VLC player, delete “YOURNUMBERHERE” and input a unique 7 digit number. It can be any number. The number makes sure the server can distinguish you from other listeners so you receive a clear, uninterrupted stream.

The next time you want to listen to KAPU, just open VLC player and “KAPU’s Broadcast” will have been automatically saved to your media library. Just click on it and the live stream will start right back up.

Happy Listening!
